Photographing “just the kids” isn’t enough

My friend Susan contacted me about a month ago about capturing her adorable son.

Of course I was happy to do it!  He is an amazing little guy, but I asked Susan if she and her husband could be in the photos too. I found out later that she hadn’t had professional photos taken in eight years.

The reason I asked was because life is just so precious.  Susan and Jay had had a tough year before Susan suddenly lost her mother. Life is just too short.

I encounter many moms who don’t get their picture taken because they have anxiety about finding good angles or worry about being disappointed by how they appear, myself included.

That’s also why I make family sessions an event that will bring back fond memories for years to come.

It’s more than just filling a frame on the wall, it’s filling your home and hearts with the memories you share with those who are the most precious to you.
