She had head shots done before and only a couple were useful.

She figured that it was her fault. Her story made me so sad.  The job of a professional portrait photographer is to bring out the inner beauty of anyone! What the photographer sees in her subject is what shows in the final images.

A professional has studied faces and angles and is able to make suggestions to bring out your best features. A professional knows how to give examples and directions in a way that makes you feel confident rather than instead of awkward.

“{I} just wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you for my pictures! I love them, there’s so many I want to use! Our time together was really great. Not only did I feel confident working with you, but I feel like you were able to coach me in ways to move that just felt right, you know? I helped so much and I feel like it shows in the pictures for sure.”

That’s the kind of bond a photographer and her subject needs to have to make great photographs! Don’t let ANYONE make you feel like you aren’t photogenic!
